Fleet Week in Fort Lauderdale Can't Post

April 28th, 2008

Today was the start of Fleet Week in Fort Lauderdale. Port Everglades was shut down to the public to bring in several Navy ships from all over. Allen and his buddies from New Jersey hopped aboard the Lady Pamela II bright and early. We headed north to Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano Beach. It took two hours to get there through the Intracoastal, but we were still first in line out of the inlet. Right off the bat we landed a nice size king, a 10 pounder. Patiently waiting for about an hour, we hooked a 35 lb wahoo offshore.

The bonitos were starting to show up at this point. Jeff pitched some bait and we were 4 for 4. We started heading back towards Lauderdale and decided to drop in on a few ship wrecks. Three's a charm. Literally. Our third stop at a wreck had some hungry fish. Allen fought a huge Golden Amberjack for a while. He was around 60 inches. It was the biggest Golden Amberjack I had ever seen.

Awesome day guys!

Tight Lines,
Captain David
