Amber Jack & Almaco Jack Can't Post

May 6th, 2008

Today we had a split charter on the Lady Pamela II with four people from Oklahoma and Boston. They sure picked a good day to go deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale. It was absolutley beautiful. It was flat calm but the fishing started off a little slow. We tried to catch bait at one of the local Lauderdale bouys, but they just weren't there. We started trolling for some kings and got a bite right away. It was about a 10 pounder, which is a pretty nice one. We continued trolling for about 2 hours and nothing was biting. So we decided to move on and hit the wrecks. No one was home at the first few wrecks. The third wreck had a little more action than the others. We got a bite and fought a 30 pound Amberjack for about 15-20 minutes. We figured this wreck was goin off, so we dropped another bait and waited - no luck. We ran to the next wreck in line, dropped a bait and waited again for about 25 minutes. The rod bent over, the boat went ahead, and it was on. All of a sudden, Mike jumped in the chair and fought a giant almaco jack. It was a pretty slow day, but we landed two trophy game fish!

Tight Lines!
