Fort Lauderdale Slam! Can't Post

May 19th, 2008

Joe Zuiker and 5 of his friends from Michigan hoped aboard the LP II today for some deep sea sportfishing off Fort Lauderdale. We started the guys off catching live speedos at a local spot then ran in 5 miles North to a drop. We dropped a live bait at the wreck to see if anybody was home and we were lucky. The rod bent over, we pulled the boat ahead and the fish came up to the surface but no body had any idea what it was. It was big and it was pulling some serious line. The guys on the boat were stoked when they saw it was a 7 foot Hammerhead. We caught this Hammerhead on mono leader which is comparable to hunting elephants with BB guns. Unbelievable, really. Moving on, we picked up and ran about another mile and dropped a live speedo. Today was definitely our day. We hooked a 42” barracuda and a huge Amberjack at the same time. Just another steller day aboard the Lady Pamela fleet.
