Sailfish Bite off Fort Lauderdale
Chris and three of his buddies from Boca headed out for some deep sea fishing off Fort Lauderdale. We ran right out to 600 feet of blue water, popped two kites with four live goggs and dropped two kingfish heads on the bottom. For 3 hours we never got a hit. Captain Paul decided to head in to 150 feet of water because of the outgoing tide with some north current. (Good thing we didn't move) A sailfish ate the third bait, got all wrapped up but maneuvered his way out. Another sailfish ate the long bait, and he was hooked. The fish was jumping every which way. Captain Paul backed down hard and cut him loose. I quickly set back up and the short bait got a bite! Cindy hopped into the fighting chair to fight the second fish. Mike got a bite, it came tight, and fell off. Cindy fought her first sailfish for 25 minutes before we released it. The sailfish bite was on fire!
